Off The Cuff

So I'll be honest-As a Christian I have some conflicts in posting this audio and wouldn't play it in concert. However-in the interest of posting some audio that is totally raw & off the cuff, here is ACDC's Highway to Hell, played spontaneously during our 1/30/10 practice. We have never played this before so this is without any practice whatsoever, now or 30 years ago, as you can tell by the hectic ending. However, pretty good for no practice!

As a disclaimer-THIS IS FOR ROCK & ROLL PURPOSES ONLY & HAS NO RELATION TO THE SINGER'S ACTUAL BELIEFS.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to all my Santana High School friends from last night & those that couldn't make it as well. Looking forward to seeing all of you next month at the show-get your shots!!!

Feb 26th Practice

So we missed Jim last night (with his UGLY flu situation) but had a productive practice anyway, sans the bottom end. One month to go exactly, and we are fine tuning & just about ready. We could honestly do a show right now, but with another month we will be awesome (well at least in our minds).

We all wish Jim a speedy recovery & look forward to next Saturday with our rhythm section & UFO vocals intact.

So Steve was out of town last weekend so Jim & I just got together to work on background vocals. Here's a small sample of a couple of our new songs we started working on during our last practice a couple weeks ago.

Original Scene of the Crime(s)

Anyone that knew us 30 years ago-look familiar?? Complete with outdoor urinal (at least on Friday & Saturday nights).

The lyrics to 40 songs is a lot to remember when I can barely remember last week. I'm just sayin.

http://www.archive.org/details/OverTheMountain

Frank had to leave early on Saturday so here's Ozzy's Over The Mountain without rhythm/backing guitar-Only lead guitar, drums, bass, & vocals. RAW BABY!!!!!!
So we have decided to scrap Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman. Great song but not our style. In it's place I'm excited to add Enter Sandman by Metallica, as well as Whole Lotta Rosie by ACDC, a couple more Priest tunes, a MSG (if you don't know don't worry about it) tune, & another UFO tune sung by our UFO specialist Jim, WITH ME ON KEYBOARDS!

Should be an interesting time between midnight & 1:30 AM!!!!!!!
So we just got good news & bad news about the 3/27 show. The good news is that we get 25% of the bar tab so a special shout-out to all our alcoholic friends-PLEASE ATTEND!! The bad news (for us) is that instead of playing 9-12 as planned we have to play 9-1:30 to get paid. So we're adding a few songs.

OK-So this is an extremely hard song to sing & play, and if I was in my right mind (never accused of being in my right mind) I wouldn't post this til it was perfect. But in the interest of logging our progress between our 1st practice & the show in March, here is Sweet Child O Mine by Guns n Roses, from our 2/7/10 practice, complete with a missed step-down at the end & our discussion & correction. KEEP IN MIND-TINY DICTATION RECORDER.

So I'm excited that Jim & I are getting together with his acoustic guitar in a couple of weeks when Steve is out of town to nail down our lead & background harmonies. Maybe I'll post some "Unplugged" sessions. In the meantime, here's a better version of The Prisoner by Iron Maiden from our 2/6/10 practice.
